Choosing an Edition
-------------------
Wireless18 is divided into two editions: BES Edition and WAP Edition.
You should choose the BES Edition if your blackberry meets one of the following conditions ...


1/. It is Nextel 6510/7510.
2/. You are using Telecom Italia Mobile (Italy)
3/. It runs with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES 3.5 or later for Microsoft Exchange) with Mobile Data Service (MDS) enabled.
4/. It runs with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES 2.2 or later for Lotus Domino) with Mobile Data Service (MDS) enabled.


If none of these conditions apply to you, you should choose the WAP Edition.
The following instructions assume that the ** BES Edition  ** is the correct choice for you.


Installation
------------
1.1. If you have download the w18-blackberry-bes.zip extract them onto your pc's hard drive.
1.2. If you have download the w18bes.alx and w18bes.cod files individually then make sure they are placed in the same directory on your hard drive.
2. Start the RIM Desktop Manager that was provided with your RIM device.
3. Choose Application Loader.
4. Choose Add Available Optional Applications aninsd browse to the location of the unzipped files.
5. Select w18bes.alx to begin the installation.


FAQ

Q/ .I get the error message "No additional applications designed for your handheld were found".
A/. This BlackBerry issue is encountered with Desktop Manager v3.6. The workaround is to instead install Desktop Manager v3.6 Service Pack 2 (not Service Pack 1). Contact your carrier for this download and follow  their instructions.
